About us and our team. |
Established in 2017In today’s society, our youth are exposed to sex through the media, and many adults are not receiving the proper education about any adverse effects of sex. Many people are confused or
uncomfortable about sexuality and the importance of self-love. Sugar Honey Iced Tea (S.H.I.T.) is here to provide education, clarification, support, and a safe place. |
Our GoalSugar Honey Iced Tea provides a “real talk” conversation with our audience, making them feel like they are talking to their friend, brother, sister, cousin, or mother figure. We want our audience to be
comfortable conversing with us and for us to educate on a personable level and not on a group of authority. Let’s make the comfortable uncomfortable and build the confidence and awareness needed in today’s society. |
Meet Our Founder
MeYonna SwaVaye Jabbaar, ABS
Founder
Detroit native MeYonna has harbored a lifelong passion for education, a flame that ignited with questions about the origin of babies at the tender age of 4, evolving into a profound curiosity about sexual health.
She earned her bachelor's degree in Family Community Services from Michigan State University, supplemented by a minor in Women and Gender studies, with a specialization in LGBT studies. MeYonna further fortified her expertise by obtaining certification as a Clinical Sexuality Coach and Sex Educator from the esteemed Dr. Rachel Institute. As a testament to her commitment, she is also a proud member of the American Board of Sexology and holds certification as a Nursing Assistant.
Post-college, MeYonna keenly observed a scarcity of sexual health resources in her hometown, prompting her to take action. Her vision centers around providing an open, safe space that is both educational and enjoyable, characterized by unfiltered conversations and a commitment to dispelling myths.
MeYonna actively engages with her community through events designed to destigmatize discussions around sex, relationships, and sexuality, distributing condom bags to encourage healthy practices. She also takes part in raising awareness about human trafficking in Detroit through informative initiatives.
In her multifaceted approach, MeYonna emerges as a beacon of change, contributing to a more informed and open discourse on sexual health within urban communities, embodying the values of education, inclusivity, and community well-being.
