Did you hear!

Since its founding in 2017, Sugar Honey Iced Tea has been committed to promoting sexual health and wellness across Detroit and its surrounding communities. By distributing safe sex kits—including condoms and lubricant—our organization has played a vital role in encouraging safer sexual practices. We are proud to have received our first major sponsorship from Trojan Brand Condoms in July 2023, with renewed support in 2024. Additionally, in March 2024, we secured generous contributions from Julie Company, providing emergency contraceptive pills to further support our mission.

September 2023: We were nominated and awarded by the President's Youth Council for $18,500 from the Skillman Foundation.
December 2023: Participated in the Detroit Youth Action Plan for Teen Hype.
As we approach the conclusion of 2023, our commitment to fostering connections within the community remains unwavering. Our focus is on serving the residents of Detroit, passionately promoting our mission to educate and empower youth and young adults, specifically those aged 13 to 25. Central to our efforts is imparting knowledge about healthy attitudes toward sex and encouraging self-love and self-care practices. Through these initiatives, we strive to create a supportive and informed environment, ensuring that the younger generation is equipped with the tools to navigate their journey toward self-discovery and well-being.
June 2024: Received grant from the Jamie and Denise Jacob Family Foundation for 2 years of $50,000 (per year).
Summer 2024: Participated in pop up tents around busy intersections in the City of Detroit with community resources, safe sex kids, emergency contraception, and swag.

November 2024: We were nominated and awarded by the President's Youth Council for $11,500 from the Skillman Foundation.

December 2024- For Christmas 2024, Sugar Honey Iced Tea adopted three families in the Detroit area to provide extra holiday support. Although we originally planned to select just one family, the overwhelming need inspired us to help three. Families were chosen based on their submitted entries, highlighting their unique situations and need for support. Each family received grocery gift cards, toys for the youth, and gift cards for clothes shopping. This initiative helped bring joy and relief to families during the holiday season.
In 2024, Sugar Honey Iced Tea has successfully established meaningful partnerships with esteemed organizations and agencies, including Developing Kids, Detroit Community Health Connections (DCHC), SEMHAC, the Black Executive Director Alliance of Detroit (BEDAD), the City of Detroit, the State of Michigan, NMAC, as well as leading pharmaceutical companies like Gilead and ViiV. These collaborations are instrumental in expanding our reach and impact.
Looking forward to 2025, we are excited to deliver an even more robust slate of programs designed to serve our community better. Stay connected to see how we continue to grow and make a difference.
